1.     Brief Introduction:

The Agricultural Resources and Environmental Management program (AREM) was established in 2012 by Beijing University of Agriculture (BUA) and Edith Cowan University (ECU), which is located in Perth, Australia, together. The program has introduced the teaching quality system assessment recognition from ECU, and the study plan has covered the entire core curriculum of both sides. Particularly, all of the teaching and evaluation are performed in English.  After 3-year study at BUA and 1-year (the last year) study at ECU, the student will get degrees from both sides: Bachelor Degree of Agronomy from BUA and Bachelor Degree of Sciences from ECU.

Currently, environmental problems have been paid more and more worldwide attention and many of them need long-term solutions. Therefore, it is expected that qualified professionals in the environmental sciences and management field will become more attractive to employers in an ultra competitive job market.

3.     What can I do after I graduate?

The graduates will be capable of contributing to any working field associated with environmental protection, agricultural resources development, agricultural products usage, land planning & management, and so forth. Particularly, nowadays, many consulting companies, such as McKinsey, have been recruiting more and more employee with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Management) background. As a professional who knows both technology and management, you will stand out.

The core curriculum include: Academic English, Botany, Plant Physiology, Environmental Chemistry, Applied Microbiology, Ecology, Ecological Hazards and Recovery, Applied Remote Sensing, Agricultural Meteorology, Agricultural Resources Usage and Management, Soil and Land Handling, Applied Water Processing, Environmental Impact Evaluation, Environmental Planning, Ecological System Management, and Biological & Chemical Hazards.
