The International College (ICBUA) is part of Beijing University of Agriculture, responsibility for international liaison and higher education co-operation with foreign academic institutions, as well as an international center with the functions of consultation, enterprise cooperation, and International communication. It has established extensive links with academic institutions such as Harper Adams University(HAU) in the UK, Edith Cowan University(ECU) in Australia.
During the development of international cooperation in higher education, ICBUA has built up an international teaching team in which all staff from different countries have good English language skills and subject background of oversea higher education. The teaching curriculum, approaches, quality assurance, and management have being conducted under an international system.
The International College and Harper Adams University have launched a higher education cooperative programme which has been confirmed by the Ministry of Education in China. At present, this cooperation contains two courses, BSc/BSc Honours International Business Management and BSc/BSc Honours Food Quality with Retail Management. The students who join this programme will spend the first year on a BUA Foundation Course and the following 2 years studying on the joint BAC/HAU programme at BUA. In the final year the students will go to the UK and study at Harper Adams University . All the modules of the programme are delivered and assessed in English language. Two bachelor degrees are awarded by both BUA and HAU on completion of the course.
Currently, ICBUA has total 420 students and within the number there are 77 students study at HAU and ECU. Up to now, 682 students in 10 cohorts went to HAU, and about 78% of 437graduates in 9 cohorts continued to study Msc programme in the UK, Canada, America and Australia.
