BSc/BSc Honours Food Quality with Retail Management

This undergraduate programme is jointly launched by Beijing University of Agriculture, China (BUA) and Harper Adams University, UK (HAU). In their last year in UK, the bachelor degree in Engineering and Science will be granted to the students by BUA and the BSC/BSC (Honours) Food Quality with Retail Management by  HAU.

People demand high quality food which is safe to eat, varied, and is good value for money from a trustworthy channel, these accelerate the development of the modern food science and retail industry. This course provides students in class lecture together with teamwork, oral presentation, placement, business visit etc. which enable graduates with knowledge, skill and ability to become food and retail industry professionals. The sequence of modules covers the topics of food quality and safety applied to the manufacture of food products and the retail management and operations of food retail businesses making up the core component of this BSc will provide the main tools you need to follow a food science and retail management related career, particularly but not exclusively, in the food industry.

The course encourages students to develop conceptual, analytical and practical skills during their four years study, prepare the graduates ready to take up career opportunities in various organisations. Using food science techniques as a contextual base (safety, production, preservation, and distribution), together with the modern retailing techniques (environment analysis, operation and marketing), course graduates are attractive to commercial organisations and government departments and agencies operating in China and overseas.
